Sustainability

Sustainable
development

As one of our priorities, we have adopted a Sustainability model that has a positive impact on the environment in which Grupo Secacao operates. Our commitment is reflected in three complementary areas of management.

Grupo Secacao employees

Human Resource
Management

Trece Aguas
Foundation

The Foundation is the social arm of Grupo Secacao and works to improve living conditions in rural communities, contributing to their development through actions that bring lasting well-being to families in a sustainable way.

33 rural
communities
4 development
pillars
Comprehensive impact cycle of the Trece Aguas Foundation: Health for children and women of reproductive age, Education for children and young people, Economic Development for families and farmers, and Community Development for communities and community leaders

We support this work through four main pillars that drive community development:

01

Health

Reduce maternal and child health vulnerability among children under 5 and their mothers.

02

Education

Ensure that students completing third grade of primary school can read with comprehension.

03

Economic
Development

Train community members so they can access technical resources and increase their income.

04

Community
Development

Train community leaders to manage the development of their communities.

Environmental programs

We promote responsible management that integrates environmental sustainability and the development of communities in our areas of influence.

We develop policies, procedures and work plans aimed at risk management and the prevention of environmental impacts arising from our operations. We also promote the efficient use of natural resources, the reduction of our carbon footprint and the protection of biodiversity, seeking to preserve the quality of water, air, and terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

We are convinced that renewable energy generation and agroforestry development, when managed responsibly, generate economic, social and environmental benefits. That is why we remain committed to continuously improving our environmental performance and conserving natural resources, for the sustainable development of the communities and territories where we operate.

We take responsibility and ensure environmental compliance through 4 programs:

Grupo Secacao protected areas
Grupo Secacao environmental programs

Zero

Refuge

Maintain our project areas as wildlife refuges and set an example of how productive infrastructure can blend with its surroundings.

04

Awareness

Help offset greenhouse gas emissions by generating renewable energy, avoiding carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions.
