Grupo Secacao brings together companies in renewable energy generation, agroforestry projects and real estate investments. Each one contributes to the same vision: creating value responsibly and sustainably for Guatemala and the region.
The Group's first power plant. Construction began in 1996 and commercial operation started in 1998.
Developed under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), it began operating in 2006. It is considered one of the first projects in Guatemala to be registered with the Executive Board of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Technically complex for its small scale, the plant began operating in 2011. The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) presented its Engineering Excellence Award to the Choloma Hydroelectric Project, together with the U.S. firm McMillen.
It is the first Distributed Renewable Generation plant developed by Grupo Secacao and began operating in 2014. The plant is not connected to the high-voltage transmission grid, but directly to the distribution grid.
Our projects are developed sustainably, based on best social, environmental, technical and financial practices, from design through construction and operation.

Operations in the Dominican Republic began in 2016 with photovoltaic projects. Making use of available rooftop space, more than 36 operational projects were installed around the city, with an approximate capacity of 14.8 MWp. We plan to expand this type of project in the future.
Our agroforestry projects began in 2003 in Senahú, Alta Verapaz, with three objectives:
Protect river basins and strengthen water recharge through the conservation of forests and plantations.
Create new job opportunities for the communities near our hydroelectric projects.
Make sustainable use of the land in Senahú, Alta Verapaz.

Since 2009 we have used 557 hectares suitable for rubber plantations to ensure the reforestation of our river basins and water sources and the conservation of the land. The plantations provide continuous employment 10 months a year, in 30-year production cycles, producing high-quality latex and solids for national and international markets.

To conserve the land and diversify crops, we have 89 hectares of pine and 300 hectares of white cedar (palo blanco). These long-term crops, with harvest cycles of 20 to 25 years, conserve soils and water sources and protect species of flora and fauna.

Conserved, protected and registered with the National Forest Institute (INAB), these forests are the main habitat for more than 700 species of flora and fauna in the north of the country.
Investment in residential and commercial complexes, with the mission of transforming people's quality of life and making it more practical and convenient.
